Kaupapa

Te Ahi Wairua o Kaikōura Charitable Trust (TAWK) is a Whānau ora service that focuses on enhancing Māori capacity and capabilities through culturally and clinically responsive activities and wānanga. Accredited as a level 2 service by Oranga Tamariki, TAWK provides counseling and programs for individuals affected by family violence, as well as mental health and addiction services mandated by the Ministry of Health. The trust emphasizes whānau-led navigation and support, offering peer groups, mobile outreach, and cultural activities. Every wānanga is developed and driven by whānau voice and aspirations, a fusion of Mātauranga Māori, tikanga, and clinical practices to support the well-being of wahine, tāne, mokopuna, and rangatahi.
